Seminar on Rural Entrepreneurship
A seminar on “Rural Entrepreneurship” was organized on 4th August, 2022 by Capacity Building and Entrepreneurship Development Programme Cell, Dolphin (PG) Institute of Biomedical and Natural Sciences, Dehradun for students of Agriculture, Forestry and Horticulture. The invited guest speakers were Dr. Suresh Singh, Joint Director, Department of Agriculture, Dehradun; Shri. Darban Singh Garbyal State Coordinator of Sashakt Bharat Abhiyan; Shri Aditya Chauhan, State Minister Bhartiya Janta Party; Shri Surendra Singh, Convenor, Swadeshi Jagran Manch; Shri Bhuwan Vikram Dabral, State President Bhartiya Kisan Sangh; Shri. Rajneesh Ji Former Village Head Manduwala; Shri Akhilesh Ji Former Village Head Bhagwanpur; Shri. Deepak Kaintura Ji Director Co-operative Society; Dehradun. All the guest speakers laid emphasis upon capacity building amongst students and how to become as entrepreneur.
As economic development is mostly driven by entrepreneurship. The significance of entrepreneurship development rises in times of economic crises. Improved health has been related to entrepreneurship, expansion, rising prosperity, and improved quality of life. The speakers also focused upon entrepreneurship development which appears to be the best substitute to find employment opportunities, income generation, poverty reduction and improvements in nutrition, health and overall food security in the national economy. A brief question answer round was also conducted for students where doubts were cleared. The program was chaired by Dr. Shailja Pant, Principal, DIBNS and Dr. Sanjay Aggarwal, Head Capacity Building Cell. This program was attended by the faculty members and students of Horticulture, Agriculture and Forestry. Dr. Shailja Pant delivered the welcome address to the audience. Dr. Sanjay Aggarwal gave the Presidential address followed by memento presentation and vote of thanks by Dr. Shruti Sharma, Coordinator IQAC, and DIBNS. The program was moderated by Dr. Deepali Rana.
