FDP on Outcome based Education was organized by IQAC in association with IQAC Cluster
One day FDP on “Outcome based Education” was organized by IQAC in association with IQAC Cluster, India on 26th July 2022. The Resource Person was Prof. (Dr.) Deepak Nanaware, IQAC Coordinator and also Head, Dept. of English DAV Velankar College of Commerce, Solapur, Maharashtra.
The FDP was organized with the objective to make the faculty members aware of how to write Cos, Pos and PSOs, their mapping and attainment. Google form for registration was provided to the faculties for registering themselves for the FDP.The day started with lighting the lamp and offering floral tributes to our brave soldiers on the occasion of Vijaya Diwas.This was followed by light refreshment and informal meeting with the members of IQAC at Principal Office.
The session started at around 11 am in the auditorium with a warm welcome to the Resource Person by Dr. Shailja Pant, Principal.Handouts as provided by Dr. Deepak Nanaware were provided to all the faculties for better understanding of the concept prior to starting of the session.The first session was on Writing and Mapping Outcomes, where the faculty members were explained in details the meaning of outcomes and how should they be written course wise. The action verbs for different levels of Bloom’s taxonomy were explained and discussed by the Resource Person (Handout 1). The Direct and Indirect Attainment tools were also explained (Handout 2). Also ideally how many course outcomes, programme outcomes and programme specific outcomes should be written. Simple and interesting examples were quoted to make the concept clear and easy to understand.Prof. (Dr.) Deepak Nanaware kept the session interactive by asking the views of the faculties on the topics covered.
Besides this, he also talked about some matrices of AQAR and SSR and gave his suggestions on how to fill data in the same. Attendance during the session was taken and 60 faculties were present. The session lasted for almost three hours, which was followed by lunch. The faculties gathered again at 2.45 pm for the second session which was on calculating learning outcomes and attainments.
The session started with explanation on mapping of Cos with Pos and PSOs (Handout 3). This was explained with the help of excel sheets. A very elaborate and complex topic was made easier by the Resource Person. The faculties were involved in filling up various tables related to mapping and attainment so that they could understand the concept well. The queries were answered immediately y Dr. Deepak Nanaware. The session helped in understanding the basic concept of mapping and attaining the Cos, Pos and PSOs.
Attendance during the session was taken and 56 faculties were present.
The session lasted for almost three hours and ended by presenting a token of gratitude to Dr. Deepak Nanaware.
The whole day FDP turned out to be very fruitful as the whole concept of COs. POs. PSOs, their mapping and attainment was made clear to the faculty members.
