Eligibility

For admission in this course candidate has to pass 10 + 2 or its equivalent examination in any discipline  conducted by any Board or University incorporated by law and recognized by this University with minimum 45% marks in aggregate.

An overview of the programme :

 Psychology is the study of behavior and the mind. The overall scholarly discipline of psychology can be divided into many different specializations, like Clinical, Cognitive Developmental Forensic Health Occupational and Social.  A Bachelor of Psychology Honours /Honours with Research involves an in-depth study of Psychology along with specialized research training. It focuses on understanding human behaviour, mental processes and research methodologies.

Objectives:

To comprehend how the human body, mind, and behaviour interact in relation to notions from social and natural sciences.

To develop the ability to formulate questions in Psychology by using resources to develop hypothesis, analyze data & interpret results.

To identify the relationship between Psychology and other fields (Interdisciplinary orientation) & the application of Psychology in various applied settings

Provide opportunities to apply psychological principles and research findings to real-world problems and situations.

Equip students with advanced research skills to design, conduct and analyze psychological research. Foster critical thinking skills of the students by enabling them to evaluate psychological research, theories and application in an analytical manner.

1. A comprehensive knowledge and coherent understanding of Psychology will entail a deep understanding of the key concepts, theories, methodologies and application within the field of psychology.
2. Practical, professional and procedural knowledge of Psychology will involve the application of psychological principles, methods and skills in various professional settings.

Skills in areas related to specialization in Psychology will include administering standardized psychological tests and measures, implementing evidence-based psychotherapy techniques, designing and conducting experiments to study cognitive processes, analysing data using statistical software, administering health assessment and screenings and analysing biopsychosocial factors influencing mental and physical health.
